Posted by sgomusic on September 24, 2014 in Key Releases, News

Five-piece Sligo/Limerick band Moxie is Ireland’s latest ‘New Trad’ sensation and Planted, its utterly infectious debut recording is released on Lyte Records. These young musicians – aged between 19 and 23 – are as versatile as they are virtuosic. Their unusual two-banjo/two-accordion attack weaves elements of bluegrass and pop around Celtic roots – like a cross between Bela Fleck and Kepa Junkera. Having just completed their first US tour to widespread acclaim Moxie has the world at its feet. Here’s some sound and vision. You can buy ‘Planted’ here.
