Mike Lindup –
Time To Let Go

Mike Lindup is a founder member, keyboard player, songwriter & vocalist in Level 42, the hugely successful platinum selling 80s pop group.

Time To Let Go is the first single from Mike’s upcoming album Changes 2, 30yrs on from his debut solo album, Changes, in 1990. The track has received airplay from Gilles Peterson on BBC 6Music, Jazz Radio (Berlin), The Face Radio (Brooklyn), Worldwide FM, Soho Radio & Acid Jazz’s Totally Wired Radio.

The lyrics were originally penned pre-Covid, inspired by the fast pace of life Mike was observing around him. Throughout the development and recording process, the theme became even more poignant on the realisation that even through lockdowns and social isolation our minds can still find endless ways to be preoccupied. Mike found himself with an increasing appreciation for the healing power of nature during this time; the ability just to be, breathe and listen to the wind in the trees and birdsong. These sonic elements feature in the track.

The track was co-written and produced by Toni Economides and Mike Patto (Da Lata, Róisín Murphy, Reel People, Moodymann).

Changes 2 is due for release in late 2021.

Pre-save the new single, out Friday 11th June:

Moxie – Is Ainm Dom

Presenting the latest single from Alt Folk band, MOXIE. ‘Is Ainm Dom‘ creatively combines both Irish and Arabic lyrics, whilst the music fuses traditional Irish style with a driving African percussive rhythms.

The track will feature on their upcoming album The Dawn of Motion, produced by Jake Birch (Carly Rae Jepsen, Theo Katzman), due for release this summer. Watch the stunning music video above, as premiered by HOT PRESS.

MOXIE‘s sound is a charismatic blend of varied influences, emblematic of the multicultural society we live in. Vocalist & songwriter Julia grew up in the historical city of Carthage, Tunisia, where she learnt the Arabic language and immersed herself in the Tunisian oriental culture. Julia and bandmate Darren wanted to pay homage to each other’s cultures; the weaving of both languages (Gaeilge & Arabic) instantly felt natural due to some of their phonetic similarities.

The song relates to the meaning of home and the importance of the journey of life that guides us through sunshine & storms. Esmi Hayat’ – ‘Saol Is Ainm Dommeaning Life is my name’.

‘Is Ainm Dom’ was added to RTÉ Radio 1’s playlist and has received global support. We can’t wait to bring you Moxie’s new album!

Eric Bibb –
Whole World’s Got The Blues

Eric Bibb, Grammy nominated guitarist and bluesman, has just released his aptly titled new single “Whole World’s Got The Blues”.

The title of ‘Whole World’s Got The Blues’ refers not only to the current global pandemic challenging us all, but also to the fact that music-lovers around the world love the blues!” comments Bibb.

“Recorded in New York City with ace producer Glen Scott, this track features legendary drummer Steve Jordan, world-renowned bass player Tommy Sims and the phenomenal Eric Gales on lead guitar. We can’t wait for you to hear it!”

Eric’s accomplishments include a celebrated career spanning five decades, recording with folk and blues royalty, two Grammy nominations and multiple Blues Foundation awards to name but a few.

When I think about my musical journey so far, I’m mostly grateful and amazed at where and who I am today. I also realize how many musical dreams of mine have come true. Listening to my earliest recordings I’m immediately aware of how my voice and guitar playing have evolved. I keep getting closer to the goal, even though the goalposts seem to continually move.” Eric remarked recently.
